This page explains what information Kofi Amoa Photography ("I", "me", "my") collects through kofiamoa.com and the inquiry, booking, and email exchanges that follow. It is written to be readable. Where the law requires specific language, it appears below in plain English.
Who I am
Kofi Amoa Photography is a portrait practice based in Northern California. Questions about anything on this page can go to kofi@kofiamoa.com.
What I collect, and why
Inquiries through this site
The contact form on /contact collects your name, email address, and whatever you choose to write in the message field. I use this only to reply to you and to keep a record of our correspondence in case we work together. The form is processed through Netlify, which delivers submissions to my inbox and stores them on its servers.
Session bookings
Consultations and sessions are scheduled through Pixieset. When you book a consult, Pixieset collects the information needed to confirm the appointment — typically your name, email, phone number, and any notes you add. Pixieset is the controller of that data on its platform; their privacy policy applies in addition to this one. I receive what is needed to prepare for and hold the session.
Email follow-ups
If we have spoken or you have inquired, I may send follow-up emails relating to your inquiry, your session, prints, or scheduled deliverables. These are one-to-one messages from my address, not a marketing list. I do not add anyone to a newsletter without explicit permission.
Analytics and server logs
The site is hosted on Netlify, which keeps standard server logs (IP address, user agent, requested paths, timestamps) for security and performance. The site also uses Google Analytics 4 to understand, in aggregate, which pages people visit and how they found the site — for example, whether visitors arrive from search or from Pinterest, and which pages lead to a consultation booking. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store full IP addresses. I use this data to decide what to write and improve; I do not use it to identify individual visitors, and I do not run advertising pixels (no Meta pixel, no ad retargeting). If the tools ever change, this section will be updated and the tool named here.
Cookies
Google Analytics sets first-party cookies (names beginning with _ga) to tell returning visitors from new ones. They are used for the aggregate measurement described above, not for advertising. Embedded third-party content (the Pixieset booking flow, if you click through) may set its own cookies under its own policies. You can block cookies in your browser settings; the site works fine without them.
How information is shared
I do not sell your information. I share it only with the service providers needed to run the practice:
- Netlify — site hosting and contact-form delivery.
- Pixieset — consultation booking and gallery delivery.
- My email provider — to send and receive correspondence.
I may also disclose information if required by law, by valid legal process, or to protect rights, safety, or property.
How long it is kept
Inquiries are kept for as long as is reasonably useful to the conversation and any working relationship that follows, and then deleted on request or in the normal course of inbox housekeeping. Booking and session records are kept for the duration of the engagement and a reasonable period after, consistent with tax, accounting, and copyright administration. Server logs roll off on the host's standard schedule.
Your rights
If you live in California, the California Consumer Privacy Act ("CCPA") gives you the right to know what personal information I have collected about you, to request a copy, to ask that it be corrected, and to ask that it be deleted, subject to limited exceptions. You also have the right not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. To make a request, email kofi@kofiamoa.com from the address you used to contact me, and I will respond within the timeframes the law requires.
If you live outside California, similar rights may apply under your local law. The same email address is the place to start.
Children
This site is not directed to children under 13 and I do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Sessions involving minors are arranged with a parent or legal guardian under a separate agreement.
Security
I take reasonable measures to protect the information I hold, but no method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure. Sensitive matters are best discussed by direct email rather than the public form.
Changes to this page
If this policy changes in a material way, the effective date above will be updated and, where appropriate, I will note the change in correspondence with current clients.
